At Curaçao Medical Center, we are committed to the continuous growth and development of our staff. This enables us, as (healthcare) professionals, to contribute to the best possible care for our patients. Quality care begins with well-trained professionals. The Training & Development department at Curaçao Medical Center focuses on strengthening and learning new competencies for (healthcare) professionals. This way, we increase our practical knowledge and stay updated on the latest developments in the medical sector.
Our Team
Our team consists of a diverse group of dedicated professionals who make the success of our training programs possible. With seven practical trainers, two coordinators, an advisor, and a Head of Training and Research, we have a strong foundation to optimize the learning experience of our employees.
Our practical trainers are experienced healthcare professionals, certified in nursing technical procedures and proficient in both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). This allows them to also provide resuscitation training. Additionally, we support students in developing specific professional competencies and offer internships. We provide additional and refresher training in nursing technical and reserved procedures for employees of healthcare institutions on the island, ensuring they remain or become proficient. Together, we strive for a seamless integration of work and learning, promoting both individual growth and organizational success.
Skills Center
The Skills Center offers training aimed at improving and enhancing the knowledge and skills of participants. We also focus on scenario-based education to improve teamwork, directly benefiting patient care. Medical, medical support, nursing, and caregiving staff can follow skills training here.
Collaboration with education institutes
We collaborate with local vocational education institutes and international vocational/higher education institutes. Additionally, we work with the Netherlands Antilles Foundation for Clinical Higher Education (NASHKO), an institutionalized organization that facilitates knowledge transfer and education in healthcare. Our collaboration with NASKHO helps us improve the quality of medical care by offering advanced training and education programs. These collaborations enable us to continuously invest in the development of our staff, ultimately benefiting the quality of care for our patients.
